One in Four
One in Four is a voluntary organisation and registered charity that supports women and men who have experienced sexual violence as children or as adults. The organisation is a needs responsive agency, which helps clients in whatever way might be necessary. As well as offering therapeutic support, we also offer a dynamic advocacy service that works to meet individual need. The charity provides some 5,000 sessions of individual psychotherapy annually as well as group therapy and advocacy to women and men who have experienced sexual violence. Our Advocacy Programme supports on average some 350 women and men each year working to meet practical support needs around issues such as child protection, criminal and civil legal processes, education, housing etc. As well as this direct support work One in Four engages with Government and other agencies to work towards greater awareness and improved responses to the phenomena of sexual violence.
